Introduccion

En esta practica haciendo uso de docker, vamos a desplegar distintas aplicaciones en contenedores, en los primeros ejercicios se trabajara con bookmedik (aplicacion para organizar citas medicas) y en las dos ultimas se usara drupal y joomla.

La forma de trabajar sera la siguiente, en nuestro equipo tendremos un directorio con todo lo necesario para los distintos ejercicios y dentro de este directorio habra otros dos (en los casos que sea necesario), tendremos un directorio buil donde tendremos tanto el directorio de la aplicacion con los ficheros necesarios para su ejecucion, un dockerfile que usaremos para crear los contenedores y un fichero script ue modificara y añadira los datos necesario en los contenedores.

Aparte tendremos un fichero deploy en el que lo unico que tendremos sera un fichero docker-compose.

Para los ejercicios usaremos dos contenedores, uno donde se alojara la plaicacion que vamos a usar y otro que alojara la base de datos que usara la aplicacion.

La estructura de ficheros quedara de la siguiente forma:

Tarea 1: Ejecución de la aplicación web en docker

  • Queremos ejecutar en un contenedor docker la aplicación web escrita en PHP: bookMedik (https://github.com/evilnapsis/bookmedik).

  • Es necesario tener un contenedor con mariadb donde vamos a crear la base de datos y los datos de la aplicación. El script para generar la base de datos y los registros lo encuentras en el repositorio y se llama schema.sql. Debes crear un usuario con su contraseña en la base de datos. La base de datos se llama bookmedik y se crea al ejecutar el script

  • Ejecuta el contenedor mariadb y carga los datos del script schema.sql. Para más información. Para que funcione la carga de datos tendremos que eliminar o comentar la linea create database bookmedik, de lo contrario ono podremos cargar los datos ya que ya hay una tabla bookmedik creada.

  • El contenedor mariadb debe tener un volumen para guardar la base de datos.

  • El contenedor que creas debe tener un volumen para guardar los logs de apache2.

  • Crea una imagen docker con la aplicación desde una imagen base de debian o ubuntu. Ten en cuenta que el fichero de configuración de la base de datos (core\controller\Database.php) lo tienes que configurar utilizando las variables de entorno del contenedor mariadb. (Nota: Para obtener las variables de entorno en PHP usar la función getenv. Para más infomación).

  • La imagen la tienes que crear en tu máquina con el comando docker build.

  • Crea un script con docker compose que levante el escenario con los dos contenedores.(Usuario: admin, contraseña: admin).

Enpezamos la tarea creando y configurando nuestro dockerfile de la siguiente forma:

Con esto lo que hacemos basicamente es configurar los contenedores con un sistema debian indicando que se realicen tanto un update como la instalacion de varios paquetes para que la aplicacion funcione correctamente.

Indicamos tambien las variables de nuestra base de datos con el atributo “ENV”. Por otro lado, con “copy” copiamos el directorio bokkmedik en build al /var/www/html del contenedor (en lugar de copy tambien se podria usar workdir).

Por ultimo añadimos en el contenedor nuestro fichero script.sh que tendremos en el build y le damos permisos al contenedor para que se ejecute. Con la orden cmd nuestro script sera lo primero que se ejecute al arrancar el contenedor.

Pasemos ahora a la configuracion del fichero script.sh:

¿Que hace esto? pues esto lo que hace es coger los datos de las variables indicadas con “$” en este caso las variables indicadas en dokerfile (usuario, contraseña, contenedor y nombre de la base de datos).

Como podemos ver se ejecuta todo lo indicado en el dockerfile sin ningun problema, sergioib94/bookmedik:v1 sera el nombre que tendra la imagen y con “.” indicamos que se haga en el mismo directorio build.

Una vez que tenemos la imagen vamos al directorio deploy y ejecutamos el docker-compose.yaml.

En el docker-compose, indicamos los dos contenedores que se van a despleguar, si usara alguna imagen, las variables que usaran dichos contenedores y donde se almacenaran los datos. Es imporatante indicar que la informacion de los contenedores es efimera, por lo que si no se les indica una ubicacion para que se almacena la informacion, esta se perdera una vez se apague el contenedor.

Tarea 2: Ejecución de una aplicación web PHP en docker

  • Realiza la imagen docker de la aplicación a partir de la imagen oficial PHP que encuentras en docker hub.

  • Lee la documentación de la imagen para configurar una imagen con apache2 y php, además seguramente tengas que instalar alguna extensión de php.

  • Crea esta imagen en docker hub.

  • Crea un script con docker compose que levante el escenario con los dos contenedores.

Tarea 4: Ejecución de un CMS en docker

  • A partir de una imagen base (que no sea una imagen con el CMS), genera una imagen que despliegue un CMS PHP (que no sea wordpress).

  • Crea los volúmenes necesarios para que la información que se guarda sea persistente.

Para este caso sera necesario descargar drupal y poner el directorio con todo su contenido en el directorio build.

Configuracion de dockerfile:

Como podemos ver, en este caso no sera necesario crear un fichero script.sh. Por lo que una vez creada la imagen, podemos desplegar el docker compose para comprobar su funcionamiento.

Tarea 5: Ejecución de un CMS en docker

  • Busca una imagen oficial de un CMS PHP en docker hub (distinto al que has instalado en la tarea anterior, ni wordpress), y crea los contenedores necesarios para servir el CMS, siguiendo la documentación de docker hub.

En este caso como cogemos la imagen de joomla de dockerhub, no es necesario tener un directorio build, solo sera necesario un fichero dockerfile.
